Paul wrote in his Second Letter to Timothy, his young preacher and protege, this essential exhortation:

Hold fast the form of sound words, which you have heard from me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. That good thing that was committed unto you keep by the Holy Spirit which dwells in us…You, therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard of me among many witnesses, the SAME, commit to FAITHFUL men, who shall be able to TEACH OTHERS also. (2 Timothy 1:13-14; 2:1-2)

In our previous articles in Prophecy in Perspective (which you might want to take a look at if you are not familiar with them) the emphasis has always been on Bible prophecy and how we can see current events as they relate to what the Bible teaches about the last days.

Many troubling things happening today signal the soon coming of the Lord to rapture His true church, born again believers, to heaven. This will be followed quickly with the beginning of the seven year tribulation which will see the rise of the Antichrist. Few are teaching these great prophetic truths.

Many believers are familiar with these teachings which are clearly taught in Scripture. These hundreds of prophecies of the End Times help us to understand the growing darkness today of violence, such as the recent attempted assassination of Donald Trump (whom God saved by a miracle), also the darkness coming into the land through China’s infiltration of our country with huge amounts of deadly fentanyl. Satan is also behind the rise in unbridled pornography, child killing through abortion and child sex trafficking; as well as, the incredible rise in antisemitism from surprising commentators and personalities.

We would be correct to ask: What is going on in these days? Further, there are astounding comments and even videos from personalities trusted by millions now assaulting the biblical doctrine of the coming of Jesus Christ and the rapture!!

These and many more reasons are why Paul wanted to exhort Timothy: “HOLD FAST the form of sound (biblical) words.” There is no doubt that people need to hear the sound teaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ and His soon return at the rapture.
