Psalm 122:6 says:

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.“

Now, pro Palestinian protestors are marching on the streets of New York and elsewhere in America screaming for the destruction of Israel. These anti-semites are lighting off smoke bombs and flares, waving Hamas flags, and disturbing all life and order at Columbia University in New York City. P

Churches and preachers are mostly silent about all this.

Presidential candidate Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Waltz; President Biden and his diplomatic team are all showing their tacit support for the enemies of Israel.

Hatred for Jews is ever the key mark of atheistic Marxism, Socialism and Communism. But most people probably could not even find Gaza on the map.

The unholy and evil spirits that are driving Israel’s enemies insane with hatred know that their time is short. Satan understands that his only way to strike at God is to eliminate his chosen people and extinguish Israel as a nation.

The enemies of Israel were historically aware of Israel’s chosen status as God’s people. Israel’s foes, no matter how numerous or well armed, understood that the Jews had, and have today, a God who would defend them against all their evil plotting and plans.

We remember wicked Haman, who plotted the destruction of Esther, Mordecai, and all the Jews in Persia. He was using the king of Persia, in a sneaky plot to prepare for the genocide of all Jews. Haman is a type of the future Antichrist. Even Haman’s own wife warned him of what the God of the Jews would do if they are attacked:

“And Haman told Zeresh his wife and all his friends everything that had befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If Mordecai be of the descendants of the Jews, before whom you have begun to fall, you shall not prevail against him, but shall surely fall before him.”(Esther 6:13)

We should mark well the fact that the rise of antisemitism is a key sign of the last days. God will again bless Israel when Jesus Christ returns to the Earth. He will return to Jerusalem descending upon the Mount of Olives from where He Ascended to heaven 2,000 years ago.

Persecution of the Jews has always been a bad idea. It has always worked a nation’s destruction. Hatred of Jews is dangerous because it is poking God in His eye.

“For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.” (Zechariah 2:8)

Christians need to learn about what is happening today. It is so unfortunate that most pastors are not preaching verse by verse on Bible doctrine, theology or prophecy. There is definitely a spirit of spiritual slumber, “eyes that they cannot not see and ears that they cannot hear” (Romans 11:8). This is true about many or most of the Jews themselves, but is also true about Christians. Satan does not want believers studying Bible prophecy nor especially understanding the times surrounding the return of Jesus Christ. But the Lord calls us to know and understand our times as well as His plans for the future.

We need to be confident in our Christian walk, preaching, leadership and situational awareness because we are now in the days of intense spiritual warfare. (2 Timothy 2:15; Ephesians 6:13-18). Pray for the peace of Jerusalem as you watch for the Lord’s coming (Psalm 122:6; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
