Do not curse the leader of Israel!!
Reports from Sunday have quoted President Trump as declaring: “Netanyahu has no F—g judgment!!” He said this in response to Israel’s military strike on a Hezbollah stronghold in Beirut Lebanon on Sunday morning.
The biblical and prophetic warning about the devastating consequences of cursing Israel go back four thousand years to when God made His unconditional covenant with Abraham to make of him and his countless descendants a great nation. This nation was to be, and it is today, the Jewish nation of Israel.
“And I will make you a great nation (Israel). And I will bless you, and make your name great.
And so you shall be a blessing;
And I will bless those who bless you,
And the one who curses you I will curse.
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Genesis 12:2-3).
This prophetic warning and covenant came to mind as I heard the report today of a B-52 bomber crashing after takeoff at Edwards Air Force Base in California. This is highly unusual.
The old giant and majestic long range Stratofortress B-52 bomber has truly been an icon of American power for well over 60 years. People are already taking notice of this unusual incident. We pray for the crew, as at this writing, I do not have reports of their condition.
Yet, I could not help but be shocked at the timing of this accident and its possible prophetic significance. Is this a harbinger to America? America and her leaders need to seek the Lord as a nation. Our blessing or curse, as with any nation, will depend upon that nations attitude toward Israel.
All national leaders need to take seriously the Bible’s prophetic warning at this time. God’s Word is true and will never fail.
America’s support and encouragement of Israel since its inception in 1948, even until today, (much under President Trump’s leadership) has been phenomenal; but, we all need to take care that “the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.” Ps 19:14 Because “Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.” (Psalm 121:4)
“For thus says the LORD of hosts: “He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.” (Zechariah 2:8)
Let us diligently follow the Apostle Paul’s encouragement for us to pray for President Trump and his team, as well as Prime Minister Netanyahu, and even all world leaders to:
“First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone— 2for kings and all those in authority—so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity. 3This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
5For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6who gave Himself as a ransom for all—the testimony that was given at just the right time.
7For this reason I was appointed as a preacher, an apostle, and a faithful and true teacher of the Gentiles. I am telling the truth; I am not lying about anything. 8Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or dissension.
Pray for America! Pray for the peace of Israel!
